Darrell Cox, Owner/Consultant/Engineer, started his career in the automotive industry at a Chevrolet dealership in Eden, NC. His passion for performance lead to a crew position on a NHRA Oakley sponsored Pro Stock Motorcycle team from (1996-2000). The Pro Stock technology led Darrell to apply this to the Dodge Neon platform prior to the Sport Compact market height. Through years of research and development with the Dodge Neon, Darrell continued to build engines and porting cylinder heads for Supras, Hondas and 4G63s. Darrell's success through IDRC, NOPI and NHRA with the Dodge Neon raised curiosity in Mopar with the Dodge Neon SRT-4 development. The SRT-4 cylinder head was a team effort with Mopar and Darrell. By 2003, Darrell's SRT-4 development led to two car team, All-Motor and Hot Rod (7.90 e.t.at 180mph) in the NHRA Sport Compact Series. This is when Darrell moved from Team Phatridz to the first year of Darrell Cox Racing. In 2004, Darrell helped Jorgen Moeller set the Bonneville land speed record at 200.50mph with a 2.4L at 700 horsepower. He helped build and manage NuFormz Pro FWD 7-sec Mopar engine program. In 2005, Darrell focused on providing Dodge SRT-4 enthusiasts by organizing meet-n-greets in their own environment, near NHRA event races for technical support and a chance to review the race car. In 2006, Darrell developed the 2.6L Stroker Engine for the Dodge SRT-4. Since the Dodge SRT-4 platform is no longer offered through Chrysler. In 2007, Darrell started working with many other platforms to apply the turbocharged technology to the small and big block V-8's while squeezing every inch of cubic power out of the motor. From engineering to tuning- Darrell Cox there is not one thing that is impossible for him.
